Coutinho out? Liverpool in talks with Bayern Munich over midfielder

According to a report from Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports, Liverpool are in negotiations with German giants Bayern Munich over the signing of Renato Sanches.

Disappointing

Sanches arrived in Bavaria last summer from Benfica with weighty expectations on his young shoulders, having played a starring role as Portugal lifted the Euro 2016 trophy.
However, the 19-year-old managed just 25 appearances all season under coach Carlo Ancelotti, the majority of which came from the bench.
His performances, when given a chance, were underwhelming to say the least, with Sanches failing to register a single goal or assist over the course of the entire campaign.

Suitors

Nevertheless, any club who watched the youngster in action at last summer’s European Championships remained interested in his services, with the likes of AC Milan, Juventus, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool all having been linked with Sanches this summer.
Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić revealed yesterday that Sanches had asked to be left out of Carlo Ancelotti’s matchday squad for their Bundesliga clash with Werder Bremen, as he aimed to sort his future out.

Anfield bound?

And this evening, as per the aforementioned report from Kaveh Solhekol, Liverpool have been confirmed as being in negotiations with the Bavarians over Sanches, with Ligue 1 champions Monaco also interested.
