'Blade Runner 2049' red carpet canceled, 'DWTS' plans moment of silence






The impact of the Las Vegas shooting Sunday continued to echo in Hollywood on Monday.

Warner Bros. canceled Tuesday's planned red carpet for the gala Hollywood premiere of the highly anticipated Blade Runner 2049, starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford.

"In light of the tragic events of last night, Warner Bros. Pictures, Sony Pictures and Alcon Entertainment are canceling the red carpet for tomorrow’s screening of Blade Runner 2049," a Warner Bros statement said.

"We join the rest of the country in sending heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all those affected by this tragedy." the statement continued from corporate communications spokesperson Jack Horner.

The carpet was set to feature Gosling and Ford along with fellow stars Jared Leto, Ana De Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis and Edward James Olmos

The screening of the film will continue in Hollywood on Tuesday night.

Open Road films also cancelled the red carpet festivities for Marshall, starring Chadwick Boseman, Josh Gad and Kate Hudson on Monday night.


"On this day of national mourning, we have decided to cancel tonight’s scheduled red carpet premiere of Marshall," the statement from Open Road president of publicity Liz Biber read.

"Instead, tonight's event will be a private screening of the film for the cast, filmmakers and invited guests. Our thoughts are with the the victims of the tragedy in Las Vegas, their families and all of those affected."

Also on Monday, Dancing with the Stars planned to open the live show with a moment of silence "in honor of the victims of the mass shooting that occurred last night in Las Vegas, Nevada," according to a release from ABC.
